Devotees throng to have darshans of relics of Sikh Gurus despite sweltering heat

The Darshan Didar Yatra, which entered into Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district on June 14, today reached Pojewal area giving darshan to hundreds of devotees and making its way towards Sri Anandpur Sahib.

 

On entering from Garhshankar to Balachaur area the CPS Chaudhary Nand Lal, Deputy Commissioner Mr Amar Pratap Singh Virk, SP Mr Dilbagh Singh Pannu, SDM Balachaur Mr Jagjit Singh, DSP Balachaur Mr Jagjit Singh, DSP Balachaur Mr Digvijay Kapil, member SGPC S Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa and Jathedar Ram Singh Dudhala welcomed the yatra at Gurudwara Baba Gurditta Ji Chandpur Rurki gate.

 

Addressing the devotees present Chaudhary Nand Lal said that area residents were fortunate ones to have darshan of the yatra carrying rare relics of Guru Sahiban. He also appreciated the efforts of SGPC and the Punjab government for enabling people has darshan of rare relics.

 

He added that the rare relics of Guru Hargobind Ji, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji have connected people with the rich heritage of Sikh history. He added that the yatra has also cemented the bonds among people of all religions bringing them closer. He said it was matter of pride of rthe Punjab government to hold this event.

 

After passing through the Chandpur Rurki Gate it was accorded welcome at Guru Nanak Mission Hospital in Kulpir Nawangran by Baba Budh Singh Dhahan and his sangat. The devotees at Kulpur also had darshan of yatra. Devotees of Nawangran, Karimpur Dhiani and Begampur had darshan of Guru Sahibans’ rare relics. Later when yatra reached Gurudwara Sahib Karimpur thousands of devotees welcomed it.

 

At Pojewal, the followers of Garib Dassi Bhoori Wale Sant Vedant Acharya Chetna Nand, welcomed yatra near Brahm Saroop Dham Pojewal.  The sangat was given cold and sweet chhabeel water to beat the heat. The yatra left from Pojewal towards Jhajj Chowk in Nurpur Bedi. CPS Chaudhary Nand Lal, DC Amar Pratap Singh Virk, SP Dilbagh Singh Pannu, SDM Jagjit Singh, DSP Digvijay Kapil, tehsildar Amarjit Singh and Gurjinder Singh gave a warm send off to yatra.

 

At Pojewal, CPS Chaudhary Nand Lal led the procession that welcomed yatra with SGPC member Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, Jathedar Ram Singh Dudhalan, chairman central cooperative bank Nawanshahr Ashok Bajarh, OSD Inderpal Luddi, block samiti Saroa chairman Harmandar Rinku Chandpuri, sarpanch Rampal Karimpur Dhiani, president Gurudwara Baba Gurditta Ji Chandpur Rurki Harminder Singh,  sarpanch Satinderpal Singh, Sucha Singh Bakarpur, director central cooperative bank Nawanshahr Charanjit Singh, sarpanch Bhupinder Singh Mahindpur and others were also present.
