Family dispute of a renowned Punjabi singer Lakhwinder Wadali is out in the open.
Wadali has filed a criminal complaint against his wife Paramjit Kaur alleging that she was not giving him divorce as committed before a court of law.
Wadali filed a complaint in Civil Lines Police Station on Friday.
Lakhwinder, the son of famous Punjabi Sufi Singer Puran Chand Wadali, had married Paramjit Kaur in 2002 but the couple had not been able to pull on well.
Wadali has alleged in his complaint that it was decided in a court of law that he would pay Rs. 20 lakh to his wife for legal separation and an amount of Rs.10 lakh had already been paid.
Sub-Inspector Vijay Kumar of Civil Lines Police Station confirmed that a complaint has been filed. A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC including cheating, police said.
“Paramjit Kaur, who had already taken Rs. 10 lakh is now neither accepting the balance amount of Rs. 10 lakh nor signing the divorce papers as committed”, Wadali alleged.
Wadali said that she has backed out from the commitment she made and as such has cheated on me.
