Dipesh Rahi was conferred with the title of 'Voice of Punjab 2013' in an impressive grand finale held here on the intervening night of 4th and 5th of October hosted by PTC Punjabi Channel here. He was handed over a a cheque of Rs. One lac. He would also be getting a chance to get his songs recorded for an upcoming movie of PTC Productions.
Dipesh Rahi, 24, who has done his M.Phil in Music belongs to Fatehabad in Haryana.
Harmanpreet Kaur was adjudged the 1st runner up while Gurbinder Singh became the 2nd runners-up. Harmanpreet Kaur was presented with a cheque of Rs. 75,000 while Gurbinder Singh was given a cheque of Rs. 50,000.
was adjudged the best singer from among the six finalists of Voice of Punjab Season 4, a singing contest organized and hosted by PTC.
The winner was finally chosen from three singers selected from among the six finalists.
Hargun Kaur from Amritsar, Sunny Mittal from Jalandhar and Hardeep from Ludhiana were eliminated at the time of grand finale while only three contestants Harmanpreet Kaur from Amritsar, Gurbinder Singh from Ludhiana and Dipesh Rahi.
Once again, renowned Music director Tejwant Kittu was the man behind the scene who guided and polished the talent of all the contestants right from day one, till the grand finale.
was declared winner on the basis of the votes secured and the ranking given by the judges.
Mr. Rabindra Narayanan and Raji M Shinde of the PTC Channels did the honours.
Music Director Atul Sharma, Young but experienced Music Director Sachin Ahuja, One of the most successful singers Master Saleem, film actor and singer Harbhajan Mann were on the panel of judges on the grand finale.
One of the judges, Shazia Manzoor, a renowned singer from Pakistan, was conspicuous by her absence on the grand finale. She had been associated with the contest right from the word go.
Amritsar crowd cheered the star singers as Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Singh, Lakhwinder Wadali, Satinder Satti, Badshah and Ranjit Bawa regaled audience with their choicest numbers.
Punjabi Comedian Mintoo, the winner of PTC Laughter da Master offered required dose of laughter in the programme.
Sadly, the two anchors of the programme - Gurjit Singh Garry and Sahil Bhardwaj - who brilliantly and gracefully conducted the programe from its first episode were made to sit in the audience and their presence was not even acknowledged either by the Channel or by Satinder Satti who was engaged to anchor the show all alone.
Earlier, PTC used to select two singers, one male and a female but this was the first time when it had announced that only one singer would be conferred with the title of Voice of Punjab.
Those present included Punjabi Singer and actor Roshan Prince, Punjabi Singer Nirmal Sidhu and others.
After winning the prestigious title, Deepesh said his dream had come true. "I am really grateful for the opportunity to prove myself. The judges and the mentor of the contest, Tejwant Kittu, have really polished me a lot."
PTC president and director Rabindra Narayan said, "It gives me immense pleasure to promote talent among youths and change their lives. Such platforms help to give new talent to the industry."
Music Director-Mentor Tejwant Kittu said, "The finalists are already big stars, and reaching this level is not an easy job, so I declare all of them winners."
