Youth Congress will continue to raise the issues of Farmers: Warring

sGidderbaha/Mukatsar , January 25, 2015 (Yes Punjab  News)

Participating in the ongoing 'Kisan Satyagrah' protest against the non-availability of urea to the farmers in Gidderbaha, president of Indian Youth Congress Raja Warring today declared that IYC wil take the issues of farmers to each and every street of the country.

Raja Warring, who is also the MLA from Gidderbaha in Punjab, today lambasted the Modi government for turning a blind eye towards the issues of farmers.

"The most badly affected is the state of Punjab which is called the food bowl for whole of the country, the farmers are not being given the urea which is resulting in agitations across the country", he said.

Moreover the proposed amendment in the land acquisition bill has made the farmer community very depressed in the country, he said.

Lauding the erstwhile UPA regime Raja said while addressing the protestors in Gidderbaha that pro-farmer policies of the UPA government had brought prosperity to the farmers.

"The farmers were given highest minimum support price against their crop. There was no dearth of fertilizers. Even the fuel prices were controlled by the government in favour of the farmers of India. The crop of the farmers was immediately purchased from mandis, the farmer had not to wait for long for their produce to be purchased by government agencies. Today all this is finished. There is only marketing left with this Modi Government, no nothing deliverance at the ground level", Raja Warring said.

Accusing the SAD BJP in the state of Punjab for deliberately neglecting the issues of the farmers, Raja said that since BJP in Punjab is in alliance with SAD, why doesn’t they raise the issue of farmers with their union government. These both alliance partners are befooling people of Punjab, he said.

"Today why doesn’t the Chief Minister of Punjab visit the union agriculture minister and depict the actual picture before him. Why the SAD is silent over this attitude of the alliance partner BJP with the kind of anti farmer policies they are pursuing", he said.

Raja also handed over the memorandum to the Tehsildar Gidderbaha after the protest.Raja-Warring-Congress
