Jalandhar DC directs officers to register FIRs against people indulging in Illegal Mining

In clear directions to the officers, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday ordered them to adopt zero tolerance towards the persons indulged in any sort of illegal mining and register FIRs against them promptly.

 

Presiding over a meeting with officers of the mining department, Deputy Commissioner has asked them to be extra vigilant for checking the illegal mining and take immediate stern action on complaints received by the district administration.

 

He also asked them to carry out surprise checking round the clock, along with the Police, for effective monitoring over the illegal mining.Mr Sharma said that as per the directions of the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the district administration is committed for keeping a vigil over the illegal mining.

 

The Deputy Commissioner said that the officers would be held accountable if illegal mining takes place in their respective area. He stated that the primary aim of all these steps was to ensure that illegal mining in the district was checked effectively.

 

In the meeting, he also sought the reports of the action taken on the earlier complaint received by the administration and asked the officers to ensure strict enforcement of all legal provisions to check illegal mining, if any, in the district. Mr Sharma said the illegal miners would be dealt with an iron hand.

 

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Mr Jasbir Singh, SDM Nakodar Mr Amit Panchal, SDM-1 Mr Sanjiv Sharma, SDM Phillaur Mr Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa, Executive Engineer Mining Mr Ram Rattan, DSP Investigation Mr Lakhvir Singh and others mining officers were present.
